Cobalt has a long history as a colour with a particular visual impact — from painting and experiments with colour as an autonomous material to architecture, where it can transform the perception of space. Here, blue is not simply one of the colours. It is the colour that sparked the idea for a collection inspired by Calder’s mobiles. The Midi works were created by breaking down and rearranging all the floating elements used in the largest compositions. This deconstruction made it possible to create an entirely new way of reinterpretation.
