Blending several shades of thread creates an effect similar to intarsia. Due to the natural texture and creamy straw tone, the finished work reflects light differently depending on the viewing angle. The cotton thread behaves in much the same way. The cool blue gradient further enhances the sense of depth and three-dimensionality. Combined with warm browns, it strengthens the contrast between warm and cool tones while bringing the whole composition together.
